Project Overview
Twisted Pair Productions provided turnkey technical production for the global launch event of the Smart #5 in Byron Bay, Australia.
The event brought together international media, brand representatives and invited guests for the world premiere of the new vehicle. The experience was designed to guide guests through a curated journey culminating in the reveal of the vehicle in a purpose-built presentation space.
Working alongside an international production team, Twisted Pair Productions delivered the technical infrastructure for the event with a lead time of just 4 weeks.
Our role included the design and delivery of the reveal environment, immersive lighting installations, audio systems and translation infrastructure to support the international audience.
Production Requirements
The event experience was designed as a progression through multiple environments, building anticipation before arriving at the final reveal space.
Key production requirements included:
• a bespoke immersive rainforest experience leading guests toward the reveal location
• a dedicated reveal environment designed to focus attention on the presentation and product reveal
• professional audio systems for presentations and announcements
• live translation systems to support international media and guests
• technical coordination with an international production team
The technical systems needed to integrate cleanly with the natural environment while maintaining the production standards expected for a global brand launch.

Twisted Pair Productions delivered full turnkey production supply including lighting, audio, control systems and on-site technical management.
Immersive Rainforest Experience
Guests were guided through a bespoke rainforest installation designed to create anticipation ahead of the reveal. Lighting and audio elements were carefully integrated into the surrounding environment to create an immersive atmosphere while preserving the natural setting.
Reveal Environment
The reveal space was designed as the focal point of the event, providing a controlled environment for the presentation and vehicle launch moment. Lighting and visual elements were positioned to frame the reveal area and direct attention toward the presentation stage.
Audio and Translation Systems
Professional audio systems ensured speeches and presentations were clearly delivered to the audience. A dedicated audio translation system was also deployed, allowing international media and guests to follow the presentations in real time.
Technical Coordination
Delivering the event within a four week production window required close coordination with the international production team, event organisers and local suppliers. Our technicians managed installation, testing and on-site operation to ensure the production ran smoothly.
