Project Overview

Twisted Pair Productions provided technical production support for the halftime entertainment at the Battle for Brisbane NRL match between the Dolphins and the Brisbane Broncos.

Working with the Dolphins and Kojo, our team delivered production infrastructure for the live halftime performance held on the field at Suncorp Stadium. The performance featured Australian band The Rubens and formed part of the major game day entertainment program.

Twisted Pair Productions was engaged to supply staging, backline and audio control systems to support the band performance within the stadium environment.

Production Requirements

Delivering live entertainment within a stadium environment requires production systems that can be installed quickly, operate reliably and integrate with the wider game day operations.

For the halftime performance, the production needed to support:

• on field staging suitable for a live band performance
• professional backline systems for the artists
• audio control infrastructure to integrate with the stadium sound system
• rapid installation and removal within the halftime schedule

The production also needed to operate within the logistical requirements of a live NRL match while ensuring the performance could be clearly seen and heard by the stadium audience.

Technical Delivery

Twisted Pair Productions delivered equipment supply, installation and technical support for the halftime entertainment production.

On Field Staging

Modular staging systems were installed on the field to create a dedicated performance platform for The Rubens. The staging incorporated our custom pneumatic wheel systems, allowing the stage to be safely rolled onto the field and positioned quickly as part of the halftime changeover.

Because of the tight production window during halftime, careful planning and rehearsal were essential. A full dress rehearsal was conducted at the stadium the day prior to the match, allowing the production team, band and event organisers to test the staging deployment, audio systems and performance timing.

Backline Systems

Professional backline equipment was supplied to support the band’s performance. The systems were configured to meet the touring requirements of the artists while integrating with the overall stadium production setup.

Audio Control Systems

Audio control infrastructure was deployed to manage the live band performance and integrate the mix with the stadium sound system. This ensured the halftime show could be clearly heard throughout the venue while maintaining balanced sound levels for the large stadium audience.

The Result

The Battle for Brisbane match delivered a high energy halftime performance for fans attending the stadium, with The Rubens performing live on field during the game.
